It’s official. And it will be at the manufacturing plant Friday. (Gee, I feel like I am sending out a birth announcement!) This one is very symbolic for us. Those of you that have befriended us over all these years will certainly understand.

This is one of the smoothest and most soothing albums ever composed by 2002. We even “beta-tested” it with our massage therapist. And it’s over an hour long.

It’s been a tumultuous year for us, and we really needed a quiet place to escape to. I hope this will do that for you. It sure does for me. I am re-learning how to walk for Heaven’s sake. I needed this music. It’s helping me. We hope it helps you too. This one’s for you.

New album

Randy is mixing the sixth song on a new 2002 album. Yay!! It’s super-mellow and I am personally loving listening to it. I blew up my knee in karate and am on crutches for an undetermined period of time so I think I needed something really soothing.

We were interviewed by a reporter for Flamesky in China. He came out to the studio last month. It was fascinating comparing cultures and sharing ideas. He told me that the Chinese believe very much in coming full-circle. Creating a really soft album was the natural thing for 2002 to do. His exact words were “everything ends with a beginning.” I love that.

(Of course, if I ever get off these crutches I’ll be ready for something toe-tapping…)

Christmas in August

We are getting into the Christmas spirit around here. Could it be the 100 degree days are making us long for cooler times to come? I am actually looking forward to the longer nights since it’s easier for me to sleep when it is DARK!!!! Yep, really dark and totally quiet – ahhhhh.

We are having a Christmas sale for August. You can now buy our CD Christmas Dreams for only $10 plus shipping. These make great last-minute gifts (I can personally attest to that!). A friend picked up 100 of them to give to her clients.

We are working on some new original Christmas songs with lyrics. It’s been a wonderful journey so far, and hopefully we’ll have something to share with you soon.

Well, after much pushing and prodding we have joined the ranks of Twitter.

I’m still trying to figure out exactly why? Here’s what Twitter says: “Twitter is a free service that lets you keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?”

Now frankly, I am usually doing something that most people would consider boring. So, in light of that fact, I am trying to limit my “tweets” to musical activities that transpire – though most of those would also be considered boring by most people, I think. For example, “tuned the harp today” would get pretty old since I’d have to post it pretty much every day. LOL
So, dearest friends, if you have any tweetable suggestions for me, I am all ears – errr beaks I guess???

I think we must be crazy. No, I KNOW we are crazy. We tossed around the idea of adding performance clips of our band into an existing video for one of the songs coming out on the new DVD next month. Now, realize that we had already sworn off EVER operating under a deadline again. It’s just too nightmarish. But we mentioned the idea for the video to our label and out of the blue we had 3 days to get the thing completed by the Amazon deadline. EEK!!!! Well if any of you have a little kid at home, you know thet nothing happens uninterrupted unless it goes on LATE at night. So there we were at 11:30 at night, getting dressed up and set up to film. (I tried really hard to not look tired.) We completed the last clip at about 2:30 in the morning. And as any of you with little kids know, there ain’t no sleeping-in late either, so this is the sort of thing that you pay for… well, for at least a couple of days, anyway.

It took the next two days to edit and then came the really boggling maze of converting the video so that it looks good on the web. Well, it’s not perfect. But here it is!

New Album coming February 2009

Hello everyone

We have a date for the new album at last! February 10, 2009. The title is A Word In The Wind and it’s about 50 minutes long. There are 12 songs and videos. The audio is both stereo PCM and DTS 5.1 surround. Here is a blurb from the back cover: “What mysteries and secrets did ancient civilizations hold? A Word In The Wind

Album update and other ramblings

Hi everyone!

As most of you know, the release date was postponed until February 2009. So we’ll add an extra song or two to make up for it. Plus Randy is working on some 5.1 surround mixes for it.

Here are a couple of interesting flutes that have found their way onto the new album and one that may still.

The top flute is a lovely Coyote Oldman flute in A flat. We bought him for the new album, but he is still patiently waiting.

The middle flute is an odd instrument I stumbled across during a trip to New Mexico. (Note the skulls on it). It’s actually an earthy-sounding flute in the key of C which lended a very dusty sound to a southwestern flavored song. The bottom image shows a very sweet ocarina which was brought to me by a friend from China. It added a very haunting sound to a slow piano song. It has an almost human-voice quality.
