Album update and other ramblings

Hi everyone!

As most of you know, the release date was postponed until February 2009. So we’ll add an extra song or two to make up for it. Plus Randy is working on some 5.1 surround mixes for it.

Here are a few interesting flutes that have found their way onto the new album.

The top flute is a lovely Coyote Oldman flute in A flat.Β  The middle flute is an odd instrument I stumbled across during a trip to New Mexico. (Note the skulls on it). It’s actually an earthy-sounding flute in the key of C which lended a very dusty sound to a southwestern flavored song. The bottom image shows a very sweet ocarina which was brought to me by a friend from China. It added a very haunting sound to a slow piano song. It has an almost human-voice quality.

  2. All three of those flutes did make it onto the album. And IT’S FINISHED!!!!! We started creating this album in October 2007. It really takes that long. And I don’t mean working part-time. It’s a round-the-clock task, seven days a week. It feels great being done and I am looking forward to disappearing for a few days… before we start the next one LOL. Just kidding. We do need a vacation. πŸ™‚

  3. Hi Pam, I can never tell you how much I love the new CD/DVD. I have shared your music with so many people, and a good friend in northern Arkansas, just went thru a very traumatic time in her life when her eldest daughter killed herself. This friend, told me it was your music that kept her in a frame of mind to deal with not only the death, but also the trip out to AZ to take care of everything, etc. She said she would put on her headphones and tune the rest of the world out, and she would find peace. What a perfect word for your music. Love you both, June

    1. Oh June
That’s so very sad. I mourn for your friend and her daughter. I wish I could take away from this world whatever darkness it is that makes people feel there is no other way out than suicide. I wish music were a magic wand…
She is in our thoughts and prayers tonight.
